The Lake County Democratic party has taken it upon themselves to replace the stars on the U.S. flag with the face of President Obama. Personally, I believe this is a shameful act. I believe that changing the flag is going way to far.
The flag has a special place in U.S. history and patriotism. The stripes represent thirteen colonies who had the courage to fight for the right to become their own nation. The stars represent the fifty states. The stars speak to us about the courage and perseverance of our nation to settle this nation. Many people have suffered and died to make the country what it is today.
I understand that President Obama is a history making president, but that does not make he one of our best. Many people are disgusted with his presidency. The list of complaints is immense. It starts with the lack of sufficient high paying jobs. Problems continue with the bailouts, high gas prices, foreclosures, unemployment and war. Obama's presidency has not shined like some of the greats. Honestly, many people can't wait to see him out. Beside all that, I do not see any of other President's face on a THE flag. By the way, it has nothing to do with his race. Merely the hardships people are facing due to substandard leadership.
What message could the flag be sending? Is President Obama reshaping the nation like the original colonies? If so, I'm not impressed.
